Capturing Green and Digital Intensities: Key Metrics for Monitoring the Twin Transition

This dataset contains estimates of green task intensity and digital skills intensity for ISIC Rev. 4 1-digit industries (A-U) across 30 OECD countries, on an annual basis from 2011 to 2024. The two intensity measures are: Green_int, the employment-weighted share of green-specific tasks per occupation (from O*NET, 0-1 scale); and Digital_int, the employment-weighted share of essential digital skills per occupation (from ESCO, 0-1 scale).

The data include total sectoral employment (tot_emp_isic, in persons). The estimates are constructed using public labor force surveys (EU-LFS, IPUMS CPS, APS), with occupational intensities mapped via BLS/ISCO/SOC crosswalks and employment weights; full methodological details can be found in the companion paper.

This ISIC 1-digit breakdown enables cross-country Twin Transition analysis at a standardized sectoral level. The estimates use only publicly available official datasets. More information on sources and methods is available in the paper:
